IMHO what students (me) spend on McDonalds and Pepsi should'nt be a
criteria to fix the amount. The issues I think here are
* The concept of charging itself.
* Charging people will definitely benfit us monetarily , but it can also
deter people from joining up. The Ilug may be (mistakenly) looked up as a
commercial enterprise.
I suggest keep the charging funda voluntary. Don't make it obvious that
"to join the lug you have to pay". Instead unofficially present expenses
incurred on every meet and collect money. I'm sure no-body will hesitate
to pay the money , irrespective of how much they spend at Mcdonalds :) ,if
done this way. We maintain our non-commercial nature too.
