i sincerely believe that windozers are roaming there just because they
have not yet got the opportunity to work on unix family of softwares,
otherwise they will swarm away from billoodom.
we need to softly expose them to open-source concepts, possibility of a
world outside window, and they are intelligent enough to understand the
implications. they will definitely use it. haven't we could come here
thru that route. love windowzers, hate billoo.

where there is a _Bill_, there is a way. as you rightly said, "_near_"
impossible.
I have been doing extensive browsing, extensive email-ing (sic) on win95
for last 07 months. and not a single virus, worm, insect, bateria,
godzilla, alien, whatever ever affected my system.
secret:
1. not having any single component of MS-OFFICE.(word, excel...)
2. not using MS-IE.
3. not using MS-Mail, MS Exchange, MS-OE or MS-Outlook.
4. not having any component of MS-Visual-Studio paraphernalia. (VB...)
Follow the above if you are not yet ready to switch to linux. and though
you are not immune, you will definitely be safer.
lovebug was especially written for OE and VB combination. If you had
both running on your system, you were doomed. if you don't have either
OE or VB, you got spared.
lovebug spells doom to Billoo's all in one, MAHA integration whim, which
is just a euphemy for all-controlled-by-MS.
For several other viruses (virii ?), Word and, to some extent, Excel are
the worst carriers due to their macros. Don't use them, or, if you can't
yet think of doing without them, pleez, pleez, pleez, turn off their
macro auto execution feature (i don't know how, and i am not sure
whether billoo has given you such an option).
also, for OE and MSOutlook, the quickview option is the main culprit. as
soon as you click on a mail, it starts showing in the lower pane,
courtesy quickview, meaning, it has already got executed. remove
quickview if you are using MS-OE or MSOutlook for email. (settings,
control panel, add/remove programmes, 2nd flap windows setup,
somewhere). I am using netscape, so quickview in not causing any problem
as compatible code is not found by the virii.

quite a foresight. i wonder that lady from manila is not your girlfriend
who had given you tips about imminent lovebug :-) just kidding.
love you all.
