For personal usage i have 32kbps exatt connection at home. Browsing,
irc, and apt-getting random foobar takes ~400MB per month. Though last
month i managed to download ~6GB at office, mainly because ubuntu
dapper was released and i dist-upgraded and downloaded several
x/k/ubuntu isos.

For me 500MB per month is more than enough at home.
