Do you mind telling us what HW is using the hardwareCompatibility bit?

When I first looked at it, I made a conscious decision *not* to
support it, because it appeared to me as a special hack for someone
pulling strings in the standards process.  Also, the text talks about
about Version 1 HW, and so it is hard to understand why a Version 2
stack should care about this.  I have looked at many PTP devices, and
I never saw or even heard of one that set this bit.

However, if there broad interest in this feature, and if I can get
some hardware for testing, then I might reconsider.
