Hi there, Here's a newcomers question.
I am working out a setup with two master clocks (one GM/leader, one slave/follower, depending on what BMCA decides) and two boundary clocks that both slave from the above setup and both provide time to the same vlan on the other side. The BC's are slave only toward the GM and master only toward the clients on the other side:
GM slave | | ----------- <-- VLAN 1 | | BC BC | | ----------- <-- VLAN 2 | OC (BC's are LinuxPTP)What I'm trying to achieve is a redundant BC-situation for the OC, with the goal of making things more resilient.
It looks like the OC can't seem to decide between BC's to use for synchronisation. It appears to use both every now and then. I use multicast (tried unicast to, but that seems to make things worse, sometimes causing the OC to stop syncing all together).
My question: is a setup with redudant BC's at all possible? Or isn't this recommended?
Any advice? Thanks! -- Marco
