I'm afraid with Windows (any flavor) there will be some amount of
tinkering, fixing, and troubleshooting needed and there will be some
things that you cannot do because while most Open Source software
supports Linux, a much smaller portion supports Windows.  I hope that
changes in the future and we will be able to do anything we could do in
Linux in Windows.  We've come a long way with tools like cygwin, but we
still aren't quite there yet.
