I have the repair manual for the R4000 in PDF format. If anyone has some space to host it, I'll gladly upload it. It's about 6MB.

Once the plate is off, you remove the heatsink, and pop out the cpu. Also the 939 socket is newer, and will support higher speeds than the 754 socket - so that's an advantage.
