I have put my hard drive into an another hp nx9105 notebook. IT does not seem to work either. (the frequence scaling). I think the problem is software side. The windows XP is not able to display the right core Mhz value, and I cant verify this way. The frequency scaling worked yesterday with the newly installed kernel. After reboot did not worked. Here is all my possible details: lsmod output: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lsmod Module Size Used by powernow_k8 16968 0 pcmcia 31496 0 firmware_class 10816 1 pcmcia yenta_socket 28108 2 rsrc_nonstatic 12544 1 yenta_socket pcmcia_core 43088 3 pcmcia,yenta_socket,rsrc_nonstatic thermal 20680 0 fan 6276 0 button 8784 0 processor 35836 2 powernow_k8,thermal ac 6724 0 battery 13124 0 ehci_hcd 49160 0 ohci_hcd 37252 0 8139too 26560 0 mii 5504 1 8139too crc32 4288 2 pcmcia,8139too ohci1394 41844 0 usb_storage 41860 0 tsdev 7552 0 usbhid 40288 0 nvidia 3909884 12 agpgart 35528 1 nvidia ndiswrapper 180244 0 usbcore 134592 6 ehci_hcd,ohci_hcd,usb_storage,usbhid,ndiswrappersbp2 24580 0 scsi_mod 141288 2 usb_storage,sbp2 ieee1394 304568 2 ohci1394,sbp2 evdev 9600 1 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ Some more output: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/lama# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_frequencies 1600000 800000 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/lama# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq 800000 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/lama# cpufreq-selector -f 1600000 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/lama# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq 800000 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/lama# cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 15 model : 4 model name : AMD Athlon(tm) XP Processor 3000+ stepping : 8 cpu MHz : 798.027 cache size : 256 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no coma_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 syscall nx mmxext 3dnowext 3dnow bogomips : 1597.86 dmesg: powernow-k8: Found 1 AMD Athlon 64 / Opteron processors (version 1.50.4) powernow-k8: 0 : fid 0x8 (1600 MHz), vid 0x6 (1400 mV) powernow-k8: 1 : fid 0x0 (800 MHz), vid 0x18 (950 mV) cpu_init done, current fid 0x0, vid 0x18 Any ideas, what is missing?
