That happened to me in the past (I have the 2.4GHz). To solve it I took
out the 4 screws that are holding the cooling stuff, cleaned the core
and put some new of the gray grease (or whatever it is...) in the core,
put everything back into place, and the machine run at least at 15-20
deg Celsius cooler. I do it once in a while. Works perfect for me. Also
you have the opportunity of cleaning better the internal areas.

I also found that running the machine on top of a piece of paper is a bad thing. It gets sucked up by the fan, blocks airflow and it shutsdown/overheats within minutes.

Friends,

First of all, thanks for the advices you posted before on how to solve the
overheating problem.

I carried out the procedures as advised. I opened the case, cleaned the
fans and the surrounding areas and it is still overheating. The same
problem is happening: when I try to use processor power (let's say,
running Lives to capture a segment from a dvd), the machine shuts down! I
thought of installing a slower processor to see if it will keep
overheating and trying to substitute the fans.

Any suggestions?

cheers,
Luis Felipe.

Q: Why do programmers confuse Halloween and Christmas?
A: Because OCT 31 == DEC 25.
