Actually, I'm referring to that partition that HP makes that is the restore
partition.

Subject: [LinuxUsers] Saving windows HP restore partition

As I said, I am reinstalling windows on my friends HP pavilion ze5700
and I'm going to put Hardy Heron on the Master boot sector.
Yeah, I know how to do that. I figured out a little voodoo myself.
To you guys that may be nothing special.
Yeah, and I will upgrade if the upgrade is already released.

I want to save the restore file on my friends HP. I know it is really trash,
but just so he won't be unhappy, since he doesn't really know what it is,
I will save it for him.

but I need to know what it is called. I am running knoppix 4.0 on a live cd,
and I am looking in konqueror. I see a file that looks like a disk with the
center cut
out like a donut, and it has gears like on the outer diameter. there are
actually two.
one is called WDSyncV6.exe, and the other is called WindowsXP-. There is a
third file,
it is called WDSyncV6.zip.... Are these the three files that I want to save?

Thanks
