OK, I see the issue.

I can make the screen larger, but I can't go smaller than the default
size.  What I wanted to do was make the screen smaller in order to get
some work done at the same time.

The smallest I can resize the screen takes up about two thirds of my
screen.  It's not like VLC or Totem that allows you to resize the
video pretty small.
