There is a difference between a payed account and a free one.
With businesses using Google as their email provider, im sure there
are some very strict legal terms on what Google can and can not do.

Most of our outbound mail to clients goto 'hosted' email servers, very
few host their own email.

We still have a Zimbra server sending out email because we send 18K+
out a day, Google does not like that...
Google Apps email functions are kind of limited compared to Zimbra,
but its a much better over all in the long run.
