Oh absolutely. That's why I'm considering TimeWarner. I live in a place
that has very new cable plant. As such I can get great reliability and
speed. I've had TimeWarner in other areas and it was horrible.

Indeed. FiOS is awesome. I worked at a client site in 2005 that had it
(before it was even called FiOS). We payed 50k for the fiber run. Best
investment ever.

Data ownership doesn't imply hosting at home. It's what I choose to do,
because of the large amount of gear I have. If it was just various
services on Linux, then a hosted solution would be fine. I'm
complementing my home hosting with a vm on various providers for those
www/mail/dns services.
