I always thought the reason to use a *NIX solution or FOSS was about choice?
Should I complain that every version of linux doesn't include x package? No,
because I'm free to install it.

My main home computer is a 27" imac quad core with hyper threading. Its a
great system. If I'm going to use a GUI id choose OSX every time. I paid a
price that I don't think anyone could argue contained the "apple tax" as at
that time I spec'd building a tower and buying a 27 inch monitor and I was
at about the same price and didn't have an OS yet.

I use it because it works and I paid a reasonable price. On the other hand I
don't think that can be said about many other apple products. Their low end
stuff is very pricey, and I just never have enjoyed their mp3 players or
phones for various reasons. I'm not drinking the apple koolaid. I don't
recommend them to most people, unless they are a reasonable fit, which any
low end offerings I don't think are.

My 45 cents(inflation).
