One reason would be the safety of heterogeneity.  While you may believe you're 
completely hardened, homogeneity in a data center, even  a small home/office 
datacenter, is much more dangerous than heterogeneity.

And another reason is just this; I want to be able to join in easily on 
webcasts, webinars, and perhaps even certain accounting packages, graphics 
packages, and the like.  Even something like watching movies on demand from 
Netflix.  Supported on OSX and MSWindows.

And I never would, though I would dedicate a machine to either.
