Hey, please don't bad-mouth the good old KGB! KGB was a noble organisation
that sought to uphold the old heathen values, also known as the Nine
Noble Virtues of Asatru. Of particular relevance to the cause of free/
open source software, open source hardware, free technical information
etc (trying to bring this back on-topic), KGB's mission was (or at least
should have been if I had been in charge of it) to infiltrate the
offices of evil information-hoarding technology companies in the West,
seize their "intellectual property" and free it to the world via
ftp.gov.su.
In today's world filled with chip-making companies which refuse to
release specs for their hardware and source code for their drivers and
firmware, KGB is sorely missed. It would do the FOSS community a lot of
good if an organisation like KGB still existed and was led by someone
like me. Just imagine how much rejoycing there would be in the Linux
community if a joint force of Russian, Chinese, North Korean and Iranian
troops were to land on California coast, invade/occupy the Newport Beach
and Irvine area, storm the Broadcom building with elite special forces,
seize all of their hardware specs and source code at gunpoint, and
publish them on their respective national FTP sites? Now why can't they
just grow some balls and do it... Weaklings, a shame to the legacy of
old mighty Soviet Union.
Oh, and for what matter, why are you, the Linux users and fans of the
world, not storming the prison where our hero and file system developer
Hans Reiser is being held? Let's do some math... How many guards does
that prison have? How many Linux users are there worldwide? Why are
you not defending your freedom, your operating system and its heroes
with mighty force and weapons like our heathen ancestors have defended
their freedom and their way of life in the year 999?

To the fields of the fallen
Where the legends lie!
Should you suddenly join in their numbers,
Say the last goodbye.
From the fields of the fallen
Where the lucky leave,
And bring with them the word of the victory
That they did achieve!
