If you installed it via yum, it should be available from your gdm login screen (select session -> window maker).
If it's not there, and you don't want to mess around with gdm's config until you've tried out wmaker, you can switch to a VT (ctrl-alt-f6), login, type: X& export DISPLAY=:1 wmaker & or whatever the executable name is -- I don't have it here and I'm not certain. In any case, you can play with it this way and try it out. I'm not remembering where you can configure the sessions list in GDM, though I think you can track it down in the gnome menus someplace.
