Boy, I wish I had time to do that :)

Well, users won't have to use this particular feature of my app if
they don't want to. But it is there if they want to make use of it.

The program is called Emu Browser for Linux.

http://dos-man.webs.com/linux.htm

This is a hyperlink launcher for launching other applications. It
works using input files that the user creates.

I have the windows version set up so that it displays all disk drives
(regardless of whether there is a disk in the drive or not) when no
input file is loaded. The user can click on a drive (unless the
password-restriction feature is activated) and then the drive will be
opened using windows explorer (unless there is no disk in the drive.)

I want the linux version of this to have the same functionality. The
file manager used isn't so important so much as the user not looking
at an empty, white window every time the program starts up. It's kind
of a convenient little behavior that isn't all that hard for me to
add. Well, on the windows version it wasn't ;)
