I guess my first question would be why do you want a NTFS partition for Linux? Are you trying to be able to share files between Windows and Linux? Install a thumb drive bootable Linux instance but retain the usefulness of the thumb drive for windows file storage? By letting us know the end need/use, perhaps we can provide better suggestions/directions.

Being new to Linux I cannot find a smaller Linux that will install to

or a NTFS flash drive. I found one but it doesn't have an install

install program
for other packages. I need a NTFS Linus with an easy install program
so I
can pick the programs from other packages than .tgz.

Any clue as to which ones they are. Definitely don't want a Linux
partition.
