Darwin is not Linux.  It's a FreeBSD variant that also happens to be
the Unix core to Mac OS X.

Unlike Linux, Darwin is Open-Group certified, so it is a true
bona-fide Unix.  So many of the things I can help with without
actually having Linux installed on a local machine.

But, because Linux isn't Unix, there are points where the two diverge
and can be quite different.  (Their handling of virtual memory, for
instance, is radically different).

It isn't any kind of battle.  They're simply two different OSs, which
happen to be quite similar in many ways.
