I am basing my OS choice on the amount of software that is
preinstalled.  My linux box is not connected to the net, so I can't
easily download anything :(

That's why I still use Knoppix quite a bit.  It comes with KeyPassX,
lazarus, and a few other apps that I use regularly. Hopefully, I'll
one day have a linux machine that can go out and download stuff.

I usually buy my Linux distros from OSDISC.com.  It's worth it for me
to pay a few dollars and bypass the need for downloading and burning
the ISO to CD or DVD. I've actually bought a small army of different
distros, but I'm only using a few of them.
