Hi,
are there any practical freely accessible speech to text (not text to
speech) software out there that work on linux? my internet searches
seem to paint a bleak picture, as most of the related projects seem to
aim for voice recognition rather than general speech to text, or im
unable to see that they can be used for speech to text.

And by the way ,can CMS Sphinx be used for speech to text?
what would i need to get this done?
is there a tutorial out there that i missed on
CMS Sphinx on speech to text?
