That might give you a start. Meego is based on Moblin which is RPM based.

thanks.

now another (different) question related to the same case, is that my friend
told me the new acer laptop he got came with a linux OS, not windows,
and when I ask for the uname -a here is what he told me on the phone:
...i686 GNU/linux 2.6.37-netbook-lp-HR #27 SMP...
I did some google search, it looks something called "MeeGo"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MeeGo

as a quick remote help solution, I usually guide people through the
teamviewer installation on the phone , and then I'll login the laptop
remotely through teamviewer remote desktop function. I then can take over
and troubleshoot or install applications for them.

but I let him tried downloading at least 3 or 4 different release for linux
and couldn't figure out how to install.
I assume it use either debian apt-get or redhad yum package management,
apt-get doesn't work so I'll guide him to try yum next time on the phone.

is anyone familiar with this OS and can point out a best solution as remote
help solution on it (including how to install applications through
Internet)?

The way to get this to work is to split your disk (enough room for windows
and linux)

Install windows FIRST, then install Linux

With Ubuntu (which I am familiar with), you can just install windows, taking
the whole disk, then during the Ubuntu install, you will have the
opportunity to resize the disk to make room for Ubuntu
