Here is the current status of the merge of UbuntuForums changes into the xf86-
input-driver and linuxwacom code trees.

Contents of 'bamboo-34' UbuntuForums patch:
 A. kernel changes against 2.6.28
 B. XInput changes
 C. hal(fdi) + udev + minor changes

xf86-input-wacom vs. bamboo-34:
 * Half of the B changes already merged and shipped in 0.10.3
 * Greatly improved since the merge (thanks to Ping)
 * There is one B patch remaining, bringing some Touch logic [1]. This is the
last bit of B changes to merge

linuxwacom-0.8.5-8 vs. bamboo-34:
 * diverged A - can't say which one is better, but with linuxwacom my 0xD2
tablet doesn't work
 * half of B has been ported from xf86-input-wacom (not merged from bamboo-34)
 * some of C has been applied: 10-linuxwacom.fdi: merged, 60-wacom.rules: non
applied, wacomcpl-exec: non applied.

Remaining steps:
 * pull [1] into xf86-input-wacom and apply it to linuxwacom/src/xdrv - this
will sync all the B changes
 * linuxwacom/src/2.6.27: merge with the kernel changes of bamboo-34 - this
won't be an easy task. you can use my git mirror [2] for easily diffing trees
(linuxwacom / ubuntuforums) and revisions
