Hi Ping,

You are of course right, there are other matters playing a part in this
as well and I agree that what you call "freedom" is what makes Linux so
great for me. Although I would like to refer to it as "flexibility"... :)
However, the point of my colleague was that his laptop is his working
material. He cannot affort to spend lots of time messing with his
operating system or drivers - he just wants to install something and it
works!
My point was that you _can_ do this with the current version of Ubuntu
as it is. For me, most of the stuff worked out of the box and the rest
is just compiling some modules. So to have a fair competition, since
everybody knows how stuff is being installed in Windows but not how it
is in Linux, I would set it up and see how long it would take me.

Well, long story cut short, he now said it is too much messing around
for him. Kernel modules and driver compilation and installation is
nothing he wants to be bothered with. Thus he's back to Windows.

As for your question, I will download the source and have a look at it.
Since I am pretty tight on time at the moment, being in a big project
and all I don't know if I can squeeze in some time, but I for sure want
to try... :)
