testinput doesn't work for me. I tried running it as the first thing
after a reboot, but no. If I enable the extended devices, it works just
like in the Gimp; the mouse doesn't register at all.

Also, today when I switched on the computer, I had to disable *all* the
extended input devices to get the mouse to work (yesterday I only had
to switch off the cursor and the eraser). I tried setting the cursor to
absolute mode in xorg.conf (the others were already in absolute mode)
and restarted the X server, but this had no effect. Then I restarted
the computer, and now things are different again: testinput still has
the same problems as the gimp, but now it's enough if I disable only the
cursor and leave the eraser and stylus enabled.

Since nothing changed when restarting X before, it seems it could be the
reloading of the wacom kernel driver that cause things to change ?
(I haven't tried just reloading the driver without restarting the rest
of the system yet though.)
