I think you missed the point. I don't think many of us are upset about
posts that contain URL's (I rather like them), but we don't like posts
which have both a text segment and an HTML segment, with IDENTICAL contents.
This is an option in several of the mail engines, often on by default.
And there are some people who send ONLY the HTML formatted text, which
is darned hard to read in plaintext.
Those of us who don't read our e-mail with similar engines often get
'treated' to both segments. And it wastes bandwidth, something which is
not inexhaustible (just ask the folks at Victoria's Secret) and which costs
ME money to expand for my lists, since I run my own domain and pay the bills
for it.
