SDS>Do lists gleaned from NEW-LIST count as unsolicited?
Interesting that just after I listed my biggest list on NEW-LIST, I
started getting a stream of UCE addressed -to my listserv address-. Not
to any address an actual human would read. Just to the program.
Had another fellow didn't subscribe, just wanted to send UCE to the list
address. And tried to make the message look like it came from -my-
address, assuming -my- address was subscribed. Which it isn't. So it
bounced -- back to my address. Idiot.
And my UCE flow into the contact address I listed on NEW-LIST maybe
tripled or quadrupled.
I also got 20-30 new subscribers. Two of whom have had anything to say.
Each of them had exactly -one- thing to post.
And now the list is absolutely silent once again.
Now, would it be reasonable to assume that I -wanted- a bunch of junk
mail sent to my listserv address? Or to my personal address? Or to my
list's address, with forged headers, forged with -my- personal address?
Do lists gleaned from NEW-LIST count at unsolicited?
