You can keep the subscriber list on an announcement or anonymous posting list fairly safe if you run the list on a machine that you own. Here in the US, this can be accomplished using several options. Run the machine from your home or business on a dedicated line. Run the list via pop-mail with a dialup connection that calls in on a regular schedule. Rent rack space from a company that co-locates... Someone could still get your data by packet-sniffing, breaking into your machine, your house or some such. - murr -
