Without a whole heck of a lot of fanfare, Y!groups deleted all the
adult groups with the exception of the humor areas.
I'm guessing that they checked with their attorneys and found that
hosting adult groups without sufficient controls would leave them
open for litigation.
I am wondering if not being able to access Topica is related.
I am concerned about the free listhosting places and their liability
in providing listhosting services for adult fare without adequate
controls. Adult shops do require proof of age and it's folly to
believe that listhosting services would be exempt from performing due
diligence, particularly if they operate as an incorporated business.
I am not a lawyer. I am suggesting that those of you who offer list
hosting services that allow adult topics get with an attorney and
look into this matter. I'm also suggesting that those of you who run
adult oriented lists do the same.
