Title: Modifying a word document displayed from a website...
If it is a MS word document and you want to keep people from modifing it you can password protect it as follows.
  1. Open the document
  2. On the File menu, click Save As.
  3. On the Tools menu in the Save As dialog box, click General Options.
  4. In the Password to modify box, type a password, and then click OK.
  5. In the Reenter password to modify box, type the password again, and then click OK.
  6. Click Save.

Subject: Modifying a word document displayed from a website...

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know how to disable the ability to modify and save documents to the clients desktop or hard drive from a website?  I have unchecked the Write check box from the Default Web Site Properties under the Home Directory tab.  I also made the .doc file read only.  Any suggestions?  Thank you in advance.
