RE: Done with IIS on XP

I'm impressed that you were able to get CF7 running with IIS on XP. I've 
been unable to do so. There's a long thread in the CF Forums, a lot of other 
people are having trouble with it as well. I've been forced to use the 
internal server for development. I guess I could give Apache a try, but I 
figure since the laptop is configured for .NET development as well, why have 
3 web servers running?

This is sad, since I've had no problem using CF with IIS to develop on NT, 
2000, even 98, for years.

Hey All,
I'm been doing development on my laptop for a number of years, mostly
because I'm anal and want my code as close to me as possible and not off on
some remote server =).
I run CF7 on XP, using IIS.  I have been very happy with this setup until
recently when I started doing .NET development on the same web server.  I
ran into some (strange) issues running both at the same time, so decided to
move off.  The problem with development on XP is that it will only allow me
to create one webserver, which is very frustrating.  For example, I am
working on an existing application for a client that has EVERYTHING 
pointing
to the root of the webserver, no dynamic paths for images, CFCs, etc.

I am considering looking at Apache on XP so that I can create separate web
roots, has anyone tried this configuration for development?  Any opinions 
on
Apache on Window$ ?
