Tonight we have Daniel Elmore discussing search engine optimization,
and Tom Schreck demonstrating the recently released version 2 of his
very cool cfcPowerTools application. Be there!

DANIEL ELMORE: SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
When most people think of SEO they think of sneaky little marketing
firms advocating black hat tactics or they think of the boring white
hat keyword stuffing, meta tag filling and <H1> tag usage. I'll show
what SEO has shaped into over the years and how it results in positive
benefits to your site visitors. I have several anecdotes that will
help paint a picture of the SEO "process". Specifically I'll explain
the differences between Google and Yahoo's ranking algorithms, no math
will be seen :), and then show how to use CF to build a spider
friendly site. Spider friendly = User friendly

I'll definitely be up for some search engine Q&A. There are some old
myths still floating around about CF sites being unspiderable. Goes
way back to the search engine friendly URL custom tag written for
fusebox sites.

TOM SCHRECK: CFCPOWERTOOLS 2
Tom will demonstrate how cfcPowerTools can make you more productive.
He will generate the database backend and initial CFCs for a small app
that tracks students, advisors, instructors, and courses that can be
used in a school setting.

Tom Schreck has been working with ColdFusion since version 2 and has
given presentations on topics ranging from Fusebox to XML to CFCs. Tom
has created a web based application for interacting with ColdFusion
components called cfcPowerTools.
