Anyone used this thing & actually made it work?

Here's my scenario.

I've got to generate an 8.5x11 page, then save it as a pdf.

the pdf will then be printed on a copier overlaid onto already printed shells (kinda like letterhead)

registration is VERY important, and the pdf will also contain an if/then that inserts a jpg or not depending on the value returned. about 4-500 different pdf's would be generated here.

I've built the whole thing in .css, in tables, blah blah, but as soon as i wrap that cfdocument tag around the code, things go wonky. (it HAS to be a pdf by the way, we send it out for the printing cuz its high volume and they CAN'T just print from the web for some reason)

examples:
1) no jpg, things are <mostly> ok
2) add .jpg, font shrinks to 50% of size (just some fonts, not all)
3) add .jpg, different resolution (dpi), jpg gets smaller/bigger (random)

also, in NO scenario does the .jpg actually look even close to good, even though it prints fine out of photoshop.

Any guru's out there on this one?

I'm looking at Blaze, but if there's anything else, I'd like to know. Money's not really an object here if there's a solution for less than a grand or so. (the way we're doing it now is ridiculous & time consuming)

any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance.
