Hah, good catch! I was thinking the hair had an ambiguously masculine look to it. Also I didn't know the "Hallelujah" vs. "Allelujah" translations (from Hebrew?) until I looked up Wikipedia. These writers searched far and wide for some obscure terminology and variants eh... Now the little blurb about Tieria's "beauty" is more in focus. Is it just coincidental that Nadleeh has an superficial appearance of Virtue? > I'm really starting to wonder where the writers are going with all of > this... My guess is that the names are of secondary importance. The writers picked names with some deliberation, but I doubt they intended for us to dig much deeper than we are now. OTOH, episodes 9-11 are now finally showing some sustaining story arc(s). A few minorish points: While Sumeragi blames herself for the tactical blunder, and Wang Liu Mei named Schonenberg as some kind of spiritual mastermind, Tieria is blaming Veda for failing strategically; particularly for the unexpected appearance of an MS that can match Virtue 1-on-1. (1) Tieria seems to put an unreasonable amount of trust in a computer; (2) Veda is really expected to predict/plot out all the possibilities and prepared responses; (3) Wang's comment supported Tieria's view that each Gundam Meister is replaceable; (4) Tieria's and Wang's comments both point to a bigger plan, beyond the violent quelling of all violence. Another point: did the manner in which Wang talked about Schonenberg tell us that he's really still dead, like he's supposed to be? So the video broadcasts are really pre-recorded or CG. On HRA, we have now firmly established a few things: those things from Setsuna's youth are Anf's (Arabic for nose!), fossil-powered MS sold by HRA to Middle East. The pilot suit of the La Idenda MA is also HRA (old) design (manufacture?). I guess these are the AK-47 of the 24th century. Also, HRA doesn't just rely on heroes like Sergei and Soma, their support cast, like Ming, are pretty good soldiers, unlike the AEU cannon fodders. OTOH, it's also possible that the writers just arbiturarily dial up or down the ability of CB, AEU, HRA, Union etc just to fit the minute-by-minute plot requirement. It's perhaps possible to explain everything Soma did as robotic devotion to the mission or HRA objectives. But I there are some very human qualities to her words/actions during the mission. In the end it was Sergei who made the rational but difficult decision to let Ming sacrifice himself. Is Alejandro Corner a CB spy? If he is, then why is CB planting him in Azadistan? I doubt CB plants spies in every 3rd/4th rate countries on Earth, so is CB consciously and deliberately choosing Azadistan as a theater for this covert grand plan? Could it be why the Gundams haven't yet intervene in Azadistan overtly? Taking a few steps further, could Marina and Shirin be the unwitting pawns (or Queen and Bishop, yuk yuk) of Veda/Schonenberg's secret plan? Perhaps more than anything else, this suggestion of a grand plan makes it worthwhile to follow for a little longer. Guess what, episode 10 is done, it's the point where I demanded the series to show its worth. -- Dr. Core -------------------------------------------------- The Gundam Mailing List MK-II [email protected] Archives: http://www.gundam.com/gml Help: Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with this in the BODY: help list
