If the Big3 had some brain, they'd pick Sergei to play quarterback, Soma running back, and Graham for wide receiver. Take a couple of episodes to build up some more field experience/teamwork, 1 more episode to set up a big fight and ep. 24-25 to play it out; end with Ptolemais smoking and sparking and everyone limps home (I still bet against anyone in the OP dying in season 1). Pacing-wise, that's just about right, at least for the mecha action. And Marina can do her "wish I could shoulder the world's burden" line, Setsuna his "world so distorted" line, Corners and Wang say their respective "I just observe" and "the world must change or else!" lines. At best it's just the same as all the previous "interventions" with a little more flash and bang. I meant, in my post, that Ptolemais isn't such a "clear and present danger" that the Big 3 have to go and capture/destroy it RIGHT NOW. With the GN-X, they can neutralize future CB interventions without going on a risky expedition. It's wiser to sit tight, race to reverse engineer the GN Drive and see who can mass-produce them first and achieve world domination. There just isn't any serious and imminent threat to anyone to go "all in" (pokerspeak) right now. In particular for Ptolemais, Sumeragi has been playing safe and solid since the appearance of TMs. What would be the reason for her to risk everything and everyone she commands? If Big 3 come gunning for her with 30 GN-X, just run and hide. Hmmm I am hoping that the 30 GN Drives are a giant trojan horse, and CB/Veda is going to crack a big scheme (read: MILLIONS of deaths) on the Big 3's head, maybe that's the cue for Ptolemais to rebel and go indie. Hmm perhaps that would make a satisfactory ending for season 1. -- Dr. Core -------------------------------------------------- The Gundam Mailing List MK-II [email protected] Archives: http://www.gundam.com/gml Help: Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with this in the BODY: help list
