It makes more sense if Alejandro wanted a UN Victory.

As far as the Trinities aren't they blood siblings? If so that explains
why he got picked.

Corner - Corner buying it soon has been suggested as likely here
already. But I find the idea of Schoenberg mocking him from deep inside
Veda as funny regardless of how unlikely it may be.

GN Drives - Even if Corner had the technology, I'm not sure how much
good it would do. Eifmann's research seemed to suggest that real GN
Drives could only be built out near Jupiter for some unexplained reason.

Sole Control of the GN Drives - This may or may not be a concern of
Corner's, but the important thing is that it was not the reason he
stated in the dialogue for making sure that the Gundams were destroyed.
There was a question on this mailing list about why he shut down the
Gundams. Corner makes it explicitly clear that the reason he wants them
destroyed is because so long as CB has the solar furnaces, it can revive
itself. He's not trying to destroy the Gundams so that he can have
exclusivity over the solar furnaces (though that may be a secondary
concern). His primary concern is to permanently bury CB, and he
believes that he can only ensure that by destroying the furnaces.

Corner's reference to a "United" something that you guys got as HRL in
your translation is probably what was translated as United Nations in
mine. During the dialogue in question, Corner seems to think that the
world will now unite under the UN. I think there was also a suggestion
that this would cement control under Corner, although I'd have to
doublecheck the dialogue in question (which I can't do at the moment).

My point regarding the thinking Trinity, though, is that it's most
likely the case that the ability to think long-term is an accident.
Yes, the ability to lead the team in the field is a requirement for his
position. But I don't think the people who picked him were counting on
him having any ability beyond that. It may not matter, though, if he
dies in the next episode.

The Union lost a Jinx as well. At one point Graham's former wing-man
shouts someone's name as one of the Jinx's gets blown up, indicating
that he knew the pilot.

One of the popular rumor is that Corner will bite the dust
either the next episode or the episode after that - it is the usual bad
guy got used by another bad guy plot.

Probably the technology behind the GN Drive - remember, only the
current Meister and the one for the other team has the 5 working GN
Drive - rest are knockoffs that has running limit. If the GN Drive can
do what the solar elevator can do, imagine how many small countries will
pay? How about the big power countries?

And hope no one can reverse engineer it - he would have the only
one, since he has access to Veda.

        > I didn't see Corner or Ribbon mention the HRL.

He is mentioning something that resemble HRL in Japanese -
something United or what not.

Someone has to be sane and thinking for that team, as his
siblings have no other really good quality to be a team member or what
not.

Supposedly, it was left with Graham in case he decide to pilot
it. Now each side only have 9 "Active" GN-X, as HRL and AEU has one
destroyed each. The rumor/spoiler was that Billy kind of retrofit the GN
Drive or what not from the GN-X into the Flag (most likely fake rumor).
