I'm probably being overly sensitive, but I'll comment that your tag line, at the end, was in pretty poor taste.

More importantly, I'll comment that the quotation is mis-used, since it is intended to pertain to interpretations specification.  Please note that text/html is part of Internet standards.

If one takes the view that one must only send what everyone is assured of being able to process, then we will never have any upgrades.  No MIME.  No HTML.  No non-ASCII character sets.  Etc.
