Seems there is some interest from TEK Systems to do a presentation maybe
in May or sooner if we want to do a special meeting/presentation. This
is mostly a feeler, to poll the group for interest.
Topics being discussed covered would be along the lines of
* Networking ( whether your looking for a job/career move or not)
* Resumes ( do's/dont's etc despite what some experts say )
* Entry Level ( how to get your foot in the door in a new field )
* Education ( what matters, degrees, certs, experience, etc )
Other topics of interest to either party, that would essentially be
mutually beneficial. Positions are open, talent is needed. IMHO no
better way to go about all that. Then to have them help to groom any
talent for the open positions. Should be a win win all around.
We did have TEK Systems do a similar presentation back in December,
2007. Turn out was not so good, despite a fair amount of interest on
list prior to the meeting. I blame December for that one, but given the
current economic situation and times. I think timing is right on now :)
