Good reference, but keep in mind gentoo-wiki is not official Gentoo
documentation. That's usually stuff from the community, which is
excellent. Most all developers will only document stuff on gentoo.org,
and commit it via cvs. Rarely will Gentoo developers contribute to the
gentoo-wiki, or any documentation source outside of gentoo.org.

Still useful and good documentation, just keep in mind it's not an
official source. So if things are outdated, break, etc. Like most things
with regard to Gentoo, its all you :)

Most of that stuff really doesn't apply to Gentoo. Short of package
names and stuff. Though some of the xorg font path stuff really does not
apply. Paths for xorg are compiled in as of like 1.4, so anything >= 1.4
barely even needs a config file. Much less the paths for fonts, etc in
there. That stuff seems a bit legacy to me.

But I have had good looking fonts for days. I guess you didn't noticed
during the presentation. Also I am pretty sure I have posted here before
on dialing in fonts. Mostly DPI stuff which is still a PITA and some
what a black art ;)
