Cron and tar, maybe toss in rsync :) You can also do like LVM snapshots or other more elegant approaches. But IMHO nothing beats a tarball of a system. Worse case if on new hardware, tweak kernel or have a generic one. You can unpack anywhere, regardless of partition layout, space on disk, etc. Otherwise can go the virtualization route. -- William L.
