WiseChoice.com is currently seeking a Linux Administrator to support our web properties. This role will be involved with all aspects of Linux server administration, management, analysis, and support. This role will also need to perform MySQL Database Administration tasks such as backup, monitoring, tuning and capacity planning. The successful candidate will have at least five years of Linux administration and at least three years of MySQL database administration. Responsibilities: * Install, upgrade and configure Linux system including hardware, system software, and applications * Perform monitoring, system backup and recovery * Build out and maintain a high-availability infrastructure * Maintain the security and integrity of the network and systems * Install and administer PHP applications on Linux Skills and Technologies: * Strong Linux administration background, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS * Experience with Tomcat, Apache, and MySQL * Experience with MYSQL performance tuning and optimization (query optimization, index tuning, caching and buffer tuning). * Experience in setting up applications in Amazon EC2 and S3 * Strong experience with High Traffic Websites. * Experience securing public-facing web infrastructure * Extensive knowledge and experience in supporting and troubleshooting Linux networking services and protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, SSH, SMTP, SSL, and HTTP * Experience in Subversion, JIRA, and Hudson EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE BS degree in Computer Science or related field from four-year college or university; and at least 3 years minimum MYSQL experience and at least 5 years minimum Linux administration experience.
