Also I commonly used it when updating machines remotely via my cell
phone. While Android is great, and ConnectBot is a good SSH client. The
connection gets dropped/disconnected. If your in the midst of
compiling/updating and your ssh session ends. You get the joy of
starting all over again.

With screen, I would log in, start a session, start my updates. If I
lost connection who cares. Just log back in, reconnect to my screen
session etc.

Also you can do some cool stuff with the dual option, to have more than
one person/terminal viewing a single terminal. Thats pretty cool if you
like say start doing updates or something that you want the output
visual for someone local to the machine. But your the one doing the
updates remotely. Kinda like VNC or Remote Desktop, but its just a
shell, with more than one person connected. There can be some delays and
other funkiness as a result, on the remote end.

Screen can be a life saver and very useful in many of circumstances.
Never under estimate the power of screen :)

Or for you Spaceballers, The power of the Schwartz!
