There have always been choices other than xen[1], like openvz[2],
qemu[3], or bit newer virtualbox[4] which is very nice for Windows
virtualization doesn't require windows drivers like xen, in fact Windows
has no clue its virtualized. Like in qemu, but way faster in virtualbox.
Here is a list[5], but it has things like Java VMs in it, not just
virtualization platforms/solutions.

I think the openvz. comparison between a bike and car[6] or car vs
bike[7] is rather interesting. Though they are a bit inaccurate that a
bike is only for 1. Guess they haven't seen tandem bikes, or ones with a
cart next to it, or the child seat on back :)
