FYI The Jacksonville InfraGard Members Alliance will have our monthly meeting on May 27, 2011 at ITT Tech on AC Skinner Parkway. Our speaker this month will be Dr. Johannes Ullrich of the Internet Storm Center and SANS. SANS will also provide lunch. The meeting will be at 11:30 am, as usual.
Here's a description of his presentation and a bio, if you haven't heard him speak before. Title: The Most Dangerous New Attacks Abstract: This session reprises the most popular session at the RSA Conference where SANS faculty and Internet Storm Center leaders shared an analysis of the seven most dangerous new attack techniques. Bio: Dr. Johannes Ullrich is Dean of Faculty, Chief Research Officer and a faculty member. Johannes also serves on the following SANS Technology Institute committees: Faculty and Administration, Curriculum and Long Range Planning. As chief research officer for the SANS Institute, Johannes is currently responsible for the SANS Internet Storm Center (ISC) and the GIAC Gold program. He founded DShield.orgin 2000, which is now the data collection engine behind the ISC. His work with the ISC has been widely recognized, and in 2004, Network World named him one of the 50 most powerful people in the networking industry. Prior to working for SANS, Johannes worked as a lead support engineer for a Web development company and as a research physicist. Johannes holds a PhD in Physics from SUNY Albany and is located in Jacksonville, Florida.
