Though I was "running" REBOL/view, I "exited to console", and used a
REBOL/core word:

as a test "script". (forever [prin "."] is even shorter) So I assumed this
was a valid contribution to the REBOL mail list.

Yes, as others have replied here,  the escape key exits the loop, while the
alt key pauses and resumes the loop. Very nice!
