The purpose of connected? is to tell whether an Internet connection exists.
However the term "Internet connection" is not really well-defined (nor is
"exists" in that context, considering that there are such things as
dial-on-demand etc.), and not all operating systems allow a program to
determine interface or routing information, so it may not always be possible to
determine a valid connection status. If connected? cannot determine whether a
connection exists then it returns true.

Since you are using the Amiga version: connected? there currently only works
with Miami and Miami Deluxe in recent versions, not with other stacks. Support
for Genesis may be added later.
