Before you grab the newer client, what version of the server software are you running?
You need to be at Lync 2013 Server for skype4B to connect. (without unsupported hacks). Skype for business is now out and we're looking at deploying this to supersede our OCS 2007 R2 software. >From what I've read the only way to get the client is to install the Lync 2013 >application, then run windows updates to pick up the April 2015 updates that >converts this to Skype for Business.
