FYI for anyone interested…. I would NOT put Skype for business into production.
I’ve loaded it on two machines and neither can place outgoing voice calls. At
least test it before you use deploy it.

We’re calling it skype4b now are we? Does anyone know which registry value I
need to set to suppress the little ‘welcome here’s 7 quick tips’ gimmick that
appears when you first launch it after the upgrade from Lync?

Before you grab the newer client, what version of the server software are you
running?
You need to be at Lync 2013 Server for skype4B to connect. (without unsupported
hacks).

Grab the Lync client, customize with OCT. Add the 2 Skype updates to the
Updates folder and they will be applied during initial install.

Skype for business is now out and we're looking at deploying this to supersede
our OCS 2007 R2 software.
