I had to wait for about a day for it to finally sync after adding the
certificate. Be patient :)

Well, I tried the hotfix on our dev system, after pointing at the new
certificate file the Asset Intelligence synchronization point status, went to
“Sync Enabled” but after it finished attempting to sync it reverted
back to “Online Service account is not provisioned”

That could be it. Although we don’t have the same errors in the log that the
article mentions below

Additionally, the following error message is logged in the Aiupdatesvc.log file:

Asset Intelligence Catalog Sync Service Warning: 0 :<Log Date>:WebException
trying to enroll: Status = ProtocolError

Asset Intelligence Catalog Sync Service Error: 0 :<Log Date>:Exception
attempting sync - The request failed with HTTP status 403: Forbidden.

Subject: [mssms] Asset Intelligence Synchronization Fails

It seems our asset intelligence synchronization point is no longer working. It
was working before but now we see the below on the Asset Intelligence node in
the console, and getting errors in the AIUpdateSvc.log. All the posts I find
on this seem to point to proxy issues, but we have a proxy server configured
in the site settings and have no problem syncing software updates…
